How to start and pause a task? #
After you have shifted in, the first thing to do is to start your tasks. Your manager may have assigned multiple tasks to you, so we advise taking a look around and deciding task priorities. It is also recommended to check your on-going tasks while deciding priorities amongst new and existing tasks.
Starting a task #
When you are assigned a task, you will be able to view it in the Items panel. Follow the below steps to start the task:
- Click on the task in the Items panel.
- Click the start icon on the task.
- This is now an on-going task and will be indicated by a green Task button.
Pausing a task #
When you’re managing multiple tasks at the same time, it becomes necessary to jump from one to the other. Kaamfu simplifies this process by allowing employees to access on-going tasks in the Task Panel. To pause an ongoing task, follow the steps below:
- Go to the green Task button (ongoing task).
- Click the pause button.
- The Task button is now greyed out.
While one task is paused, you can resume or start another task and it will again be indicated as a green Task button at the top.
Tip: If you want to shift from one task to another but you’re finding it difficult to located the item in the Work Panel, access it from the Activity Panel by clicking on ‘Locate’ in the floating menu in its conversation. Clicking the play icon will start the task and pause the on-going task.
How to pause the shift? #
Kaamfu allows flexible work management, and one of the way this is implemented is the shift pause option. This can be done from both the web application and the Workstation Connect app, as follows:
From the web application #
- Navigate to the time panel
- On the Shift button, click the pause icon.
- A pop-up will open with a drop-down of durations. Select any one.
- Click Pause Shift.
From the Workstation Connect application #
While you’re shifted in, the Workstation Connect application will be running with time tracking.
- So first, open the application.
- Click on Shift Pause.
- There are two options here:
- If you’re only pausing the shift, select ‘I will be back in’. From the drop-down, select the duration you wish to pause your shift. Click Pause Shift. (Note: this will pause your shift on the web application as well.)
- If you wish to shift out, select ‘I won’t be shifting back in today’. Click End Shift. (Note: this will end your shift and time tracking will stop for the day).
How to shift out #
When your work is done for the day, make sure to first click stop on the tasks you’ve completed. If there are unfinished tasks, they will paused when you shift out. Follow the below steps to shift out for the day:
From the web application #
- Go to the Shift button on the Time panel.
- Click on the stop icon.
