The Workline Panel is an innovative feature of the Kaamfu web application designed to enhance team management and communication by providing real-time updates about team activity. This streamlined interface is positioned on the right side of the application, offering managers and employees a snapshot of work statuses at any given moment. Here’s a breakdown of how it works and its key features:
Live Status Indicators #
The Workline Panel uses an intuitive color-coded system to display the current status of each team member. This system ensures that team leaders and members can quickly assess productivity levels without diving into extensive reports.
- Green – Active Task
Indicates that the team member is actively engaged in a task. This shows the user is productive and focused. - Grey with Countdown – On Break
Displays that the individual is on a scheduled break, with a countdown showing when they are expected to return. - Green with Additional Profile Bubble – Working with an associate
Depicts a team member working on a task assigned by another team member, whose profile is also displayed here. - No Status – Shifted-in but Idle
Represents employees who have logged in for their shift but are not actively working on any task. - Red with Countdown – Late from Break
Indicates that the employee took a break but has not returned on time, with a timer showing how long they’ve been delayed. - Red with Exclamation – Power or Internet Issue
Highlights unforeseen interruptions, such as power outages or connectivity problems, causing the shift to pause automatically. - Greyed Out – Shifted Out for the Day
Reflects that the user has completed their workday and is no longer available on the panel. Members who have shifted out will always appear at the bottom of the list.
Interactive Profile Bubbles #
The Workline Panel isn’t just a monitoring tool—it fosters seamless communication. Each team member is represented by a profile bubble. Clicking on a bubble opens the conversation of the user’s current task. You’ll be taken to the Team Panel where you can further access their backlog, screenshots, and more. This feature eliminates the need for navigating to separate chat windows, making communication faster and more efficient.
Scalability for Large Teams #
For large organizations, the Workline Panel is scrollable. As team members log in for their shifts, their profile bubbles dynamically appear, ensuring that every active user is represented in real-time.
- For Managers/Owners: Their panel displays the entire team, enabling them to monitor activity across the organization.
- For Employees: Their panel is tailored to display their upline (managers), cross-line (colleagues), and downline (subordinates). The workspace owner’s profile is always pinned at the top for easy access.
